Post Game: Ruben Stud, err

Ruben Tejada hit a walk-off 2-run double, his 2nd double of the game, in the bottom of the 9th off of Milwaukee Brewers closer John Axford to give the New York Mets a 4-3 victory at Citi Field.  It was the Mets 1st victory of the season when trailing after 8 innings.  Nothing else really needs be said.

well, cutting it close, but got 1 monkey off their back.

Now, maybe they can get off the GS Shneid!

Good for Ruben. I thought Niese was going to give him whiplash jumping up and down on his head after that game winning hit.

Beltran leaves midway for ‘discomfort in his surgically repaired right knee’.
With Pagan not there and Jesus already lifted, Nick Evans took over in CF. According to Jerry, he’s shagged some flies out in CF in practice so he was next up. LOL…..

Not a bad pitching performance for Pelf. Too many walks but a quality start no matter.

hopefully beltran is just normal sore. But, I expect we will be dealing with this a lot next year, with day to day issues and holding your breath on him.

I am, of course, assuming he will be back, for better or worse!

Ledger_NYMets: After leaving game early, Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran to undergo MRI on right knee http://bit.ly/bTj3lg

        that never sounds good.

Hopefully it is really a precautionary measure. Normally, people with chronic conditions have follow up exams/scans anyway (trust me on this one!), so it could be that.

I expect that his off season of rest has begun a few days early.

Hopefully pagan gets back by game time tomorrow, or Jerry might be starting Duda out in CF for one of the games!

KB’s interview with Jerry before the game:
KB: ‘Jerry, would you like to come back and manage this ballclub next year?’
Jerry: ‘Oh, I’d love to – love to. ‘

Jerry said he thought Reyes would hit the ground running when he returned. That didn’t work out.
Though Beltran would hit the ground running. Wanted him as DH in Baltimore. When he came back, that didn’t quite work out.
I learned a valuable lesson about the need for ST for these players.

I learned that Jerry lives in some kind of la la land dream world!

Sorry jerry, Fail. Move on, time for the next guy to get a shot at it.
