Why the hell play Felciano over Duda?

Over Carter? Yeah, I said it!

One could play each game at least, and don’t give me the handedness thing.

    1. Mr North Jersey

shhh the season is over let it go

Mr. NJ does not beleive we should give a shit about anything involving the actually games at this point, or what Jerry does on his way out the door.

although you would think there was someone in the FO that would have some interest in preparing for the future, but appatently not.

I know Mr N, that is true, but Feliciano will not be on this team in 2011; no chance, no way, no how.

Duda, if he has a great spring, very well might, and certainly has a place in the team’s future plans. Why not see how he hits a veteran lefty?

        That’s all I am saying.

I have never been the Jerry-hater some are, but the two things which I have always consistently reamed him for are his sacrifice bunting and lineup choices.

Why in the world would you sit Duda (and Carter) for Feliciano? Just plain inane. And that’s a nice rhyme.

don’t forget his over obsession with handedness, regardless of actual past performance.

          Except re: Pedro F.

I still think that Jerry was all ready to get canned months ago, and was looking forward to a paid summer vacation. And since he didn’t get it, he decided to F with the fans and the FO to get even.

      LOL….

  3. stickguy

And burying Duda, regardless if a LH Sp is going, for this stretch is asinine. Someone should be telling Jerry to play him daily, since you don’t need any more looks at Jesus (or even Carter) at this point.

maybe Omar already has been told he is gone too, so he doesn’t care.

      + Many.

But I do think Omar is coming back.

I hope you’re wrong, unless it’s in the capacity we discussed in the other post, where a real baseball man comes in and takes over, while Minaya maintains the GM title in name only. I can hardly bear listening to another year of Omarisms.

I forgot Duda was still on the roster. I figured since he was starting to hit they must have cut him.

    1. stickguy

well, using Jerry ligic, since he had the big PH double a few games back, he is obviously now a LH PH bat off the bench, supplanting Carter. I have no idea however what the makes the Animal.

There’s a reason Feliciano didn’t get a shot at the majors until he was 31. Play Evans and Duda in the same lineup. Sacrifice defense in a meaningless game to get the two kids some ABs. Jerry can’t be gone soon enough, and I hope Omar goes with him.

    1. metsfan4decades

I’m not even sure you’re sacrificing much defense with Evans and Duda in there. Neither one has looked particularly bad to me in the OF.

Now Carter is another story. He has one of the weakest arms I’ve ever seen.

      1. stickguy

Carter throws worse than me, and I am old and blew out my shoulder in college.

    another random trade idea.

Was giving a response elsewhere about how some of the Met fan favorite off seaosn targets were doing, which caused me to think of (and look up) lackey’s stats. Meh at best.

But, forgetting about NTCs and such, if the Sox wanted Bay back, and offered a straight swap, would you do lackey for Bay? I think they have about the same contract, right?

Me, I do it, figuring they are hard up for enough SP, and can likely get equivilant production from a Duda/evans (or some such) LF platoon.

And the Mets win a game they trailed after 8 innings. Think that’s the first time all year that’s happened. Congrats to Ruben Tejada, who has looked much better at the plate this month. Nice game, kid!

    1. stickguy

now they just need a GS to avoid that o-fer embarrasment!
