Problem is, the heavy rain is just getting there too late!

this season really needs to be over, so we can get to the real fun on Monday. Gotta figure that even the players just want to get the hell away at this point.

I’m looking forward to the playoffs because that is what professional sports is all about. At this time as far as the Mets are concerned let me quote Clark Gable in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

Perhaps my attention will turn to the Mets sometime in the off-season but then again perhaps not.

From MLBTR – Yu Darvish’s likely posting fee could be around $25MM and the right-hander might look for a five-year deal from an MLB club, suggest sources of Matt Cerrone of Metsblog.com. The Mets, Yankees, Rangers and Braves are listed as four of the eight teams who have shown an interest in Darvish, and we know the Rays have watched him pitch as well.

I would hope that the Mets will make a push for him. Then again, this is coming from MC.

The Mets were also interested in Yuneski Maya and Chapman.

        i know. :(

Looks like the old RDMB decided to wrap up the season a few games early, just like the team!

although to be fair last night, they pitched 3 guys that have no place on the roster next year, and started hessman and Feliciano (ditto). SO right there, that put them at a disadvantage!

sound like the left side IF though made some sloppy, brutal plays. Not sure what Ike’s was, but the next manager needs to address the D somehow.

I did watch that whole game and it was brutal. Number of actual errors charged didn’t tell the whole story.

Ike? He didn’t start the game – I know he did pinch hit later but I don’t recall if he actually was a defensive replacement or not.

      1. metsfan4decades

I remember it now. Ike was involved in that one play that resulted in TWO errors during that one play. He was playing first and his throw to home was way off the mark. Throwing error allowed a run to score.

It sounds as if the players have their respective bags packed, airline tickets to home purchased, limos to the airport waiting and one foot out the door while they play these last games. LOL

BTW How bad was the storm in your area?

          1. metsfan4decades

The storm here down at the central Jersey shore could have been worse. Winds from late afternoon on but the heavy, heavy rains didn’t start until after midnight. And boy did it pour. Finally stopped about 7am this morning.

hopefully the new GM will see the need for Yu Darvish. kids a can’t miss star in the making

Man, if that isn’t a jinx I don’t know what is.

I have one fear, and even though I would still take him, Dice K.

      1. oleosmirf

valid point although the numbers Darvish has put up as a 20, 21, 22, 23 year old were better than Dice-K ever put up in Japan. not too mention he’s the same age as Niese…

        1. TRS86

True, but there have been just so many pitchers stats not transfer well from Japan to MLB. I can’t help but be skeptical of a guy that will most likely cost us a total of 15M a year for 5 years when you count his posting fee.

Thank you Mr. NJ after all that digging I was bushed and fell asleep early in the Mets game. I guess I didn’t miss much at least not much good.
