While we anxiously wait for the Mets to decide on their next GM, let us examine the Playoff Picture.
Last night the Texas Rangers drew even with the Yankees and the Giants took game one from the Phillies.
Today’s question is: Do the Rangers have enough to beat the Yankees and can the Giants out slug or out pitch the Phillies?

Anything can happen in a 7 game series.
I’m a lot more confident this morning that the Ranger and Giants can get it done than I was before it started.
Both are going to come down to pitching – and good defense.
CC was not that good but the Rangers BP that night was worse. It’s even now at 1-1 so I feel the Rangers have a good shot.
The Giants beat the Phillies ace. True, it might have come down to one play not made by Ibanez in LF but Halladay wasn’t lights out. Lincecom was shaky in the early innings but he managed to keep those heavy hitters off the base paths. Actually, the Phillies offense hasn’t been all that great in Sep and the post season thus far. They beats the Reds with some big help from the Reds awful defense.
Who knows what Pettitte will do? Pettitte is facing Lee and if I’m not mistaken Lee is something like 8-0 in post season.
I’m enjoying these games so far. Go Rangers! Go Giants!

I sure hope so !
I have been telling Yankee fans not to underestimate the Rangers pitching staff – the rangers could easily been 2-0 at this pont with lee pitching tomorrow night . If I was a Yankee fan I’d be a little bit worried
and oh yeah PHUCK THE PHILS !!!

I say yes, just beacuase I said before the playoffs started that I wanted the Giants since they had the SP to handle the phils (and even in the round 1 blow out, the phils offense was not particularly good overall), and that the Yankees were primed for a fall (pitching related).
And the rangers have the offense to slug with the yankers, so pitching should decide it. ANd a little D, of course.
A rangers/giants WS would be amazing. I would actually watch some of it, just to see games!

On paper the Phillies and Yankees will meet in the World Series and the Phillies will win. But Mets fans know all about how things on paper don’t necessarily end up that way in reality.
The respective LCS games have been more enjoyable than I ever expected so far. I hope that trend continues but I’m not in any position to put my money where my mouth is, just not confident enough that what I want will actually unfold.
