A while back I posted a article showing a chart of a possible 2011 Mets hierarchy. Now with Alderson being announced as the next Mets GM there are some reports that feel Minaya’s relationship with Alderson and Fred Wilpon give him a decent chance at coming back.
So Again I ask do you think this could be the 2011 Mets hierarchy?

I don’t think so. MHO of course. The chart looks right, but I just don’t see Omar in that role.
If he does come back, somethink like director of overseas operations (essentially the DR acadamies, and whatever else the mets got) might make sense. But I just can’t see him getting a prominent FO role, that is a straight line demotion from his last gig.
And I sure don’t think he showed enough talent in scouting to make it worth the confusion, baggage, media Bs, etc. bringing him in (vs. other qualified guys) for that role.

I wonder that too. He is the only guy in the upper reaches of team management that I have never heard of in any other context, such as being involved in some aspect of the team or a situation.
I assume it is a fancy title and a nice office just to give him someplace to hang out during the day, to get out of his wife’s hair.

I’d be more than a little surprised to see Omar that high up on Sandy’s ladder.
I don’t know much about what Ricco does — maybe he is the guy — but Sandy seems to like to have a numbers guy around.

from earlier reports (and who knows how accurate any of them are), Ricco is a money/contract guy, not a stats guys. So his numbers is not the same as a sabermatrician type of numbers.

I tend to query the NY Times for past articles regarding the Mets and depending on the keywords I use I find some good articles.
Here is a quote from Jeff Wilpon back in 2005 in regards to trying to launch the Yes network.

Dude I am so sorry I am just now still recovering from what turns out was a bad infection so that day when I told you to call me I was out with fever that eventually forced me to an ER trip.
I am still taking antibiotics but the last 2 days I’ve felt a lot better. I didn’t want to ask you to reschedule until I knew for a fact that i could commit to it since it might be a very involved process. I promise though I will give you a heads up as soon as I get to a point where I know I can commit.
