Who, exactly – votes on the Gold Glovers? I confess to not knowing.
Reason I’m asking is according to stats, Jeter was one of the worst defensive SSs in the league last year.
And if Victorino gets the nod, then Pagan should have been close in that voting. But I’m willing to bet he wasn’t even in the running.
Gold Glove is getting to be as meaningless as who goes to the All Star games.

I see that 7 train (Pignataro) has a post up that Reyes is being shopped. Pretty sure that is the first
fficial” report to say that. At least that I have seen.
could also be a negotiating ploy? Gotta figure that the threat of going someplace undesirable might get them to the table. Or maybe not.
Or of course, his “sources” could be full crap.

i don’t really know who he is but the chances he has “sources” are fairly low…

So far, it’s the only hint anywhere I can find that the Mets are shopping Reyes.
I have no idea if Pignataro has some ‘inside’ sources. I’ve never seen 7 train scoop a rumor first before, but I suppose it’s possible.
IMO, it doesn’t make sense. I’m fine with Alderson listening to every offer that comes the Mets way, but openly shopping Reyes first? Bah….doesn’t make sense to me.

well, not sure it means shopping when it says listening (or he is available). More like Alderson saying everyone is theoretically available, but it doesn’t mean he plans to trade some of them.

One of the beat reporters says that the Mets have “listened to offers for Reyes” every year and what has happened this off season should not be considered any different.

sounds like a reasonable conclusion.
I think 7 train just needed to get some buzz.
