Where do I get my Terry Collins jersey? Really like this guy. I have a feeling we’re going to see less bunting and more running over catchers. Exactly what I wanted from the new manager.

      + 10.

I think we’ll see bunting just smart bunting although hopefully Castillo is not on the team so we dont have a designated bunter in the 2 hole.

bunting as an offensive weapon I am fine with. It was placidly giving up an out to move one of the top base stealers in the game up 1 base in the 1st inning that drove me nuts.

Drag bunts, bunts for hits when the 3B is playing too deep, that is aggressive BB.

anything to bring the corner IFs in a bit only helps you get more balls by. Put more pressure ont he defense, and make them work harder.

Holy crap, I agree with this so much I want to frigin stand up and cheer.

          1. stickguy

I am honored to hear that. I think.

          2. kingman 26

            Oh, you are.

            :-)

keep an eye peeled. I got creative again today.

still working on my opus: “Jose Reyes plays the game the way it oughta be played”

          4. kingman 26

            Great! I love fiction!

I’m sure we’ll still get the 8th inning bunt when Reyes leads off with a hit in a tie game. Maybe not quite as religiously, but it’ll still happen.

Hopefully Collins doesn’t like bunting DOWN 1 in the bottom of the 9th.

          1. stickguy

maybe. But a last inning sac is a whole different animal.

          2. njstuckintx

            it’s a marsupial.

    3. stickguy

I heard he is in the stockroom, sharping up all the spikes.

Astros avoid arb. with Nelson Figueroa. Whew!

    1. stickguy

You can’t posibly mean they offered and he turned it down? If so, I don’t know which side is more insane.

and he couldn’t have been a type B anyway. Or C. Maybe a Q sounds about right.

and I really hope you aren’t happy about this so now the Mets can go get him back!

      1. Ceetar

think it just means they worked out a deal in lieu of arbitration.

Werth turned the Phillies down. :-D

      2. njstuckintx

:) nah, just thought we could get TRS going.

They came to terms prior to arb. something like 900K for the year.

It’s pretty sad that the Astros are going to run with Nelson as their #5. Our rotation doesn’t look as bad, eh?

        1. stickguy

OK, that is a valid reason for the post.

Might as well just go with Gee, and save 1/2 a million.

        2. oleosmirf

sad thing is Figueroa would be a welcome addition to our current pitching staff.

          1. stickguy

it is not that bad. Just incomplete, which would only bother me if this was April 1st, not December 1st.

  3. Mr North Jersey

lol TX, Don’t u remember the last time someone tried to get TRS going using Figueroa?

    1. njstuckintx

      :D

That almost beats Tom & Jerry’s “Froggy came a courtin, he did ride.. CRAMBO!”

  4. kingman 26

I must say I am right there with TRS.

I would rather see Gee and Misch than Figgy.

    He sux, long and hard.

    1. stickguy

another small market mantra. If you are going to suck, at least do it cheaply.

    2. metsfan4decades

I’m right on board with ya on this one.

Question. Do the Mets collect insurance money if Johan misses significant amount of time next season? If so, that’s a lot of money.
