Yes folks – the news of my demise has been premature at best. Yes as I sit here in front of my computer – readying myself for my third straight day of snow emergency mandated double shifts for the hospital I work for . I am just letting you know the TDIMIWR posts should be back t normal by Friday afternoon.
And with that said …. HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!!!
Mets alumni celebrating a birthday today is :
Reserve outfielder from the ’09 campaign, Emil Brown (1974) .
Texas Rangers signed pitcher, Kenny Rogers of the New York Mets as a free agent on December 29, 1999. It was safe to say that was the best move he ever made , because Mets fans were about to draw and quarter him after he walked in the winning run during game 7 of the ’99 NLCS series against the Braves.
And while you are still up to your ears with ice & snow just remember – there are just 93 days until the Mets open the 2011 season against the Florida Marlins in Miami and 100 days until the Mets 2011 home opener against the Washington Nationals at Citi Field.
Mo Vaughn is snowbound in his CT mansion and his food supply is running on empty . Needless to say Mo’s wife and kids are looking a tad nervous !!!

If Uncle Sam doesn’t tax the hell out of it, that will be some nice paycheck with that OT. Still, I’m sure you’d rather take the rest and relaxation right about now.
Kenny Rogers….yup, that’s about the only clear memory I’ve got of his tenure with the Mets. Good riddance.

So I hear that the Mets are interested in Fuentes. But apparently Fuentes wants 3/$15M. No way the Mets are signing a 34 year old LOOGY for 3/$15M. They would’ve signed Feliciano if they are willing to shell out that kind of money for a LOOGY.
Anyways, what’s up with these relievers getting crazy money this offseason? I mean Garland got $5M and Scott Downs got the same kind of money with 2 more guaranteed years? Am I missing something or are the RPs valued higher and higher?
