I feel like I’m following a trial similar to OJ’s when instead all I want to be doing is counting down days until ST.

Exactly, which is why Iast weekend I likened Sandy & his Crew Bosses to OJ’s dream team. I’m just sick of it. At this point it’s good to see the Wilpon’s are going to come out swinging now. What the hell, might as well get out there and start fighting in public instead of leaving everything to inuendo and spin.

I too am totally done with this soap opera. I just don’t care. Sell part, sell it all, do something else, I just don’t care. I want to watch baseball, and discuss on the field.

and while I do like projecting the team down the road, endless speculation about halving payroll and becoming the pirates just gets to be tedious. With this situation, you really have no clue what will be the outcome, so for now, I just continue to take at face value that the team will have the money for operations like normal.

this mess also came at the wrong time, since this is usually the void period, where there is nothing going on.

Who knows how long it is before they settle the lawsuit, but once ST opens, that should divert most of the attention unless something earth shattering happens with the off the field stuff.

So….what got the bigger hits? This lawsuit being unsealed or Pettittte retiring? I wonder which one Francesa spent more time on this afternoon?

Just spent some 30 minutes reading reactions from beat writers over on MLBTR. I see it swings the pendulum from it won’t have any effect to maybe they should have been a bit more serious about looking at pitchers when they lost out on Lee. Might really come back to bite them this year. You know, eggs all in one basket and all.

Can’t have enough pitching depth. With limited FA available (who are worth a damn and/or the money some were asking) and budget restrictions, I can’t fault Sandy for the signings he made. They might be a risk but at least we’ve got some depth now. By risk, I mean at least they’re not all 33+ years of age keeping our fingers crossed they stay healthy. Better odds with younger pitchers coming off injuries. And most, if not all, are at least a year removed from said injuries, right?

I’m hoping that at least one, if not more, gives us some good innings and several wins. If all stay healthy and pitch to previous career numbers, our rotation might not be that bad, in spite of losing Johan.

I think the mets should be OK with SP, at least if the front 3 stay in one piece. Most teams (and years) you will be doing a bit of mixing and matching for the 4th/5th/6th starters.

I do think the guys he signed have potential, if their arms stay attached. But, I was never expecting any of the reclamation projects or back end guys signed (by the mets or any other team) to toss 200 innings. So, that’s why you need the depth. if they could get 25 starts and 150 innings (+/_ a little) out of each one, it would be huge for the team.

at least these guys, i think, have the potential to throw some good innings when they are pitching. I would still rather have these 2 + a PT filler (like gee) than a proven lousy pitcher (like Millwood) just because he is supposed to be healthy Still not going to throw 200 innings or close, when you are lucky to make it through 5! Hell, it you want that, just toss Ollie.

and I think it will be hysterical if the Yankees spend 240 mill and have a train wreck of a rotation. AJ, who knows, and CC has got to collapse under the weight (off surgery too) at some point, right?

I actually like Garcia as a contributor, but there’s plenty of crapshoot there.

on another note, just saw that the phils are (or might) be signing GM jr. that should be a plus for the mets!

and Sr. and Jr. reunited. poetic justice for philles fans.
