neise is going to have a huge year. the guy has talent. if he doesn’t go down the Maine path of injuries (never a given with this team!), he is going to emerge as their best young pitcher (better than pelf).

Don’t know if it was b/c it was a radio interview but Niese sounded more comfortable, relaxed, confident? …then he did last year anytime they interviewed him after a game.
Sounds like he’s sincere when he says they’ve got a great group of guys and I got the impression ‘hearing between the lines’, he’s more optimistic than most sounded this time last year. Interesting how much he likes Warthen. Of course in his young career he probably hasn’t had much exposure to many different pitching coaches.
‘Johan is the best pitcher in baseball’. so says Niese.
