Yesterday Baseball America released their 2011 MLB Top 100 Prospects. Below you can see which players moved up or down on Baseball America’s list this year.

Some Like Bryce Harper will show as “Not Signed” since he had yet to sign with a MLB team. Others may be “Unranked” simply meaning they were not in the Top 100 last season.

Chris Carter made the top 100 list? The Chris Carter we had last year?
If yes, I’m kind of surprised to even see him on the top 100.

      Not the same guy.

He made the top 10,000 list though.

        stop being silly.

we all know he had too much ML service time and is no longer a prospect!

I did appreciate his spunk though. Could you imagine him and Collins on the bench together?

I said last year and still say that I would love to see him as a coach.

Guys who play the game right and hustle but just do not have the natural ability can make great coaches and managers.

Garenhire and Sparky Anderson and Lasorda and Whitey Herzog and LaRussa being just a few examples.

either that, or a motivational speaker.

He can live in a van, down by the river.

On another note, Heyman is on a role this morning on Twitter:

‘gave 5 bucks to beggar w sign at mall yest. now there are 5 beggars. I was duped. at least I didn’t tell my friends to give, too.’

‘its good players union will be vigilant, but here are chances k-rod finishes 55 games to vest $17 mil ’12 option: 0 pct’
    *************

It must be pick on Mets day for him. I see cerrone took offense to some twitter comment and came back with:

‘Why is @SI_JonHeyman so surly on Twitter lately? You OK, buddy? It’s baseball. Have fun!’

seeing guys make such huge jumps (or even worse, drops) to me points out how much of a crap shoot these ranking lists are. Especially after you get past the handful of superstar/stud prospects (still no guarantees there of course!), there are a whole bunch of guys that could be grouped in any order. Trying to compare such a diverse group and making it seem like #21 is really “better” than #71 is just silly.

and the lower the level, the bigger the dartboard you are throwing at.
