While not applicable to this clip I heard “Mikey”, gotta love that, yesterday talking about “Terrence” (as I expect Mikey will get back at him with) and he was on the money with this:
paraphrasing: How refreshing is it the way Terry handled the Carlos announcement. No gyrations of the front office didn’t know this, that guy didn’t know that, and everybodies mad because nobody communicated. Just dealt with it in the office, announced it, and moved on. Not anything like the old Omar & Jerry show. Totally professional, don’t even have to worry about that nonsense anymore. Also praised his camp.
Now while the Carlos handling was made easy by Carlos bringing it to closure Terry has handled things well and has run a nice camp so far. I’m just grateful not to hear of any silly one handed hitting drills. I wasn’t in the Terry hiring corner but he’s done a really nice job so far both on and off the field.

Yes, except he followed up that interview by inciting his audience with the ‘Beltran isn’t ready for the season yet? what is this…3 years with a bad knee? he’ll never be ready, never play more than 100 games again, won’t be a star. Wright and Reyes will then be expected to carry the team and that’s not gonna work’…..
I had to turn off WFAN when the fans started calling in ranting and raving in agreement on how Beltran is a selfish player.

is looking to give him a little extra rest in April really the same as not being ready? to me, that would mean starting the year on the DL. Which likely does save Evans though.

Yup – lol. I turned it off right after the guy that was ranting about Beltran not having that surgery at season end in 2009 because he wanted to ‘loaf around for the holidays and wait until they were over’.

the financial mess stuff that came up the other day IMO overshadowed the fact that so far, the team is in pretty good shape, and camp is going smoothly.
Other than Beltran ramping up slowly, everyone is healthy and doing what they gotta do. Especially the pitchers.
Knock wood of course, but hopefully it stays that way!

When financial stuff comes up now I try to apply “the Zen of Stick” which I chart up as: I’m tired of it, I shall try not to let it enter my thought process, and I will enjoy seeing baseball on the field.
I’m really quite serious here. When they get into this I think “Stick would try to tune this out, I shall try too not to get crazy”. And for this I thank you.

Time for Wilpon to Part With the Mets…so says Rosenthal
‘For the good of the team, the good of the game and maybe even the good of his family, Wilpon needs to get out.’
Sigh….opening day can’t come soon enough.

I’m tired of seeing people making moral pronouncements about the owners. They don’t “owe” the fans or BB to sell for their perceived sins. They really just have to pay their debts, and they get to keepthe team.

I too am surprised that so many have judged the Wilpons morally when they really do not seem to have all the information YET> That day may come but before I do that I would want to make sure.
