First batch of spring training pics

As you know (since we posted it a few times).. Dirty and I attended the Red Sox at Mets game in Port St Lucie on Sunday.  In addition to meeting Ted Berg of TedQuarters , we got to see some great action, talk to some Mets players and take some pictures.

We specifically had a short but good conversation with Jon Niese and (as expected) he doesn’t buy the media hype about how bad of a team they may be and are excited to get to the season and see what they can do as a group.  He also doesn’t feel Spring training being any different this year than any other in his career and he is excited to use his cutter more in the upcoming season.  Assuming they can shy away from anymore major injuries, they have a lot of confidence together.

Dirty and I will be heading back down this Sunday and more than likely one or both of us will get to a game each weekend throughout the rest of spring training, and likely Opening Weekend in Miami.

We will attempt to report more next week, but I know at least for myself, this has been a busy week in “the real world”, but please enjoy some of the pictures we took here!

Please keep following @nleastchatter and @realdirtymets on twitter for Spring Training updates when we go!

Lol, were you just hiding out in the parking lot? Nice pictures of Mets eating and talking on their phones ;-)

These are very cool. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite is #40 of Beltran at the plate, after a swing. Won’t be seeing this too much longer.

      Ya gotta believe.

Come on, they really shortened Armando Rodriguez’s batting helmet sticker to “A-Rod”?

Yea… we thought that was hilarious

When i was there in 2009 we (among many many others) hung out after the game between the exit gate and the parking lot. Every player that drove had to walk by. It was kinda funny, guys like Jerry Manuel who didn’t really want to sign would sign while walking to their car. Jose Valentin yelled at my wife for not taking the cap off the pen before handing it to him.

Nice pics. You obviously have a better camera than me, don’t think I can pull of those action shots without a little bit of blur on the bat or ball.

I’ll try my best though. I’ll be SRO for Mets @ Red Sox, so might as well snap some pictures.

picked up a Canon T1i around christmas… what an amazing camera and a great investment.. got two lenses and even those were taken with “auto” modes… we had a small HD Cam with us too, but didn’t get any videos worth posting..hopefully this week we will

yeah, one of these days I’ll upgrade to an SLR. I’ve got a really nice ‘point and shoot’, (canon powershot i5 s or something) and I’ve gotten some great shots, but it obviously has drawbacks.
