The Man Up Award for yesterday goes to the Marlins Defense. The Marlins committed 3 errors in a 9-2 rout by the Mets to win the series. While the Mets would have won anyway(assuming the game played out the way it did) without the unearned runs, hopefully this will open some eyes to the “real” NL east. The Marlins had horrible defense in spring training and it looks like it has not improved yet the majority of the “media” expects the Marlins to finish ahead of the Mets. As ANY Met fan can tell you after 2009, defense cost you games….ALOT of them.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Willie Mcgritty Harris showed off some pop with a 1st inning 2 run home run
Ike Davis made good on Chipper’s observation as having the most pop than any guy he has seen with his crushing HR off Vasquez
D J Carrasco put out the fire in the 7th with a bases loaded strike out to end the inning

The Fish had three infielders (coghlan, morrison and bonifacio) playing excellent defense in the outfield the other night. Bonifacio played well at 3b that same night.
