Wednesday Update: Good news, everyone! The Good(ish) news from yesterday has turned into Good news, no ish. Models are tracking the storm a bit farther south, and also delaying its timing a bit. As of now, “game on” for Friday at Citi Field!
Of course, as today looks better than yesterday, things could change again by tomorrow. But as an old meteo professor used to say “the trend is your friend!” Let’s hope so.
I’ve heard concerns from several fans regarding the weather on Friday (first game in NY). It’s still a few days away, but here’s what I’m seeing:
Bad news: The timing of the weather system coincides with gametime. It looks more likely than not that it will rain Friday evening.
Good(ish) news: There’s a (~30%) chance the system will stay far enough south or move through quickly enough for the game to be played without a hitch.
Also, looking like decent odds that they could get away with a double-header on Saturday if Friday doesn’t work.
But today’s only Tuesday, still time for things to change a bit. I’ll update again tomorrow if anything changes.
