I guess as long as Bay is out, when Hairston or Harris play LF, they’ll bat 2nd with Pagan 5th. Interesting….

not what I would do, but hey, they didn’t make me the manager. Hard to argue with the hot hand of Harris now, and he has done very well vs. Blanton.

still, Duda vs. Blanton looks like a good match up, and Pelf is not a big FB guy.

Hopefully Duda gets in tomorrow. Halladay should be a nice little test for him!

I think duda should have just started in AAA if they weren’t going to use him, but I also though Bay would be back sooner. Now, I bet he is out the entire month, at least.

Who would you have put on the roster than instead of Duda? Going with Evans, he would have had to clear waivors before being sent down again, when Bay comes back.
I really don’t know if the FO had a clue that Bay wasn’t going to be back sooner rather than later. I would have bet later. Either way, without that crystal ball, I guess they crossed their fingers and went with Duda.

    Phillies lineup:
Victorino, Polanco, Rollins, Howard, Ibanez, Francisco, Orr, Schneider, Blanton.

I don’t know anything about Orr and we all know Schneider’s bat.

Don’t think Orr’s any good, Pelfrey should make quick work of these bums.

Here’s hoping. Pelf needs to be sharp tonight. I want to continue this 3 game winning streak.

      Schneider…

      Puhahahaha!!!

or is some old bench dude that never really did much ever. Exactly the type Philly loves to pick up!

and no, that is a less than imposing lineup. Only 1 guy likely to crack 20 HRs in a season at this point, and a few that would be lucky to come near 10.

This is not the old slugging Phils we are looking at here!

This is completely off topic, but does anyone else think Tulowitzki is overrated? I’m not saying he’s bad. He is certainly worthy of an All-Star spot. But some people/media have seemed to put him up in the Pujols plateau which I think is ridiculous.

Yes, he is terrific defensively. Yes, he has lots of power and can hit for average. But to be honest, I’m not sure why the Rockies would tie him to a 10 year contract. That’s crazy!! That’s Jeter-like contract! From ages 30-34, he’ll be paid $20M per season. Haven’t the Rockies learn anything from Helton contract? Geez what are they thinking…

“Yes, he is terrific defensively. Yes, he has lots of power and can hit for average.” Uh, what’s not to like?

As for the 10 years… yeah, that’s a little crazy.

If it’s a blow out, either way, and you’re going to bring in Krod to get some work, is he pitching the 8th? and if so, how high will eyebrows begin to be raised?

Only gripe is Pagan ahead of Ike, but just picking nits.

good decision to go with Harris. I know everyone wants to see Duda but as of today, Harris is the better player and thats most important…

lets get Duda back to Buffalo…

I bet Duda starts tomorrow with Beltran resting.
