I’ll be the first to say it: That was ugly. Just ugly.
Concerns for me:
-Defense: sloppy. Why does this always rear it’s ugly head when the pitching is going south?
- BP: starting to worry me a tad. Kind of hard though to get a read b/c that’s what tends to happen when you’re starters can’t get out of the early innings. However, they can’t be tired or over worked yet so do we have a problem?
- I realize Niese is basically young and not too experience but….2 games in a row here with what Bobby O calls ‘poor pitch selection’. Should we be concerned yet about Thole’s ability to call a game? Is he even calling the majority of these pitches.
On to the Citi home opener. Here’s hoping they get back on track.
Sounds like it was like the Marlins equivalent of their performance against us in our rubber game against them this past Sunday. Glad I missed it.
And yes the BP is starting to worry me too. Small Pelf is trying his best to continue waiving the MOP flag from last year as the lone remaining member.
I also hate Wright playing so far off the line against guys like Victarino last night. I’d rather position to take away the double down the line. Especially after coming back from 7 down.

The Mets don’t always lose but, when they do I prefer Smuttynose beer.
