Love him or hate him, he did what a closer is supposed to do last night. Krod came into the game in the 8th with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 out to relieve Bobby Parnell. Protecting just a 2 run lead at the time, Krod got the pinch hitter Matt Stairs to ground out. Krod came in and in usual adventurous fashion, got the last 3 outs in the game for his first save of the season. This was a good bounce back after the loss on opening day.
Tron was on fire last night. Showing flashes of 2006, Beltran had his 28th multi homer game and first in a very long time. His two home runs were pretty awesome but it was his misplayed routine flyball that eventually lead to a 3 run rally in the 6th. Beltran may be healthy one day and not the other but there is no denying his presence when things are clicking. I hope we get the Beltran of old more times than not in this administration due to their handling of injuries so far this year(he is not playing today).
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Ike Davis…is the man…hit a two run triple that gave the Mets the lead in the 6th
Jose Reyes(finally) gets a hit with runners on in his 10th at bat with runners on

KRod better stop fooling around. With a 4 run lead, the 9th inning should be an ends to a means, not sitting on the edge of my seat – for crying out loud.
