what is it with strange handling of the #2 hitter? Is this a new Met tradition?
speaking of historical artifacts (well, we are now) my wife was cleaning out some old junk boxes recently, and found some met souvenirs. A 1986 WS champs window cling, and some pins, I think all were giveaways. a 1994 25th anniversary commemorative one (from the ’69 series) with the score of opening day (Mets lost 11-10 to the Expos), and a WS commemorative one from 1987.
I also have a very yellowed 1986 WS champs keychain on my desk, and my daughter wears the WS champs sweat shirt my wife got right after the series (I have mine in the closet).
I remember going to the Secaucus Hilton right after the series ended for a big memorabilia (OK< cheap crap) sale and buying this stuff.
To me with Duda in the lineup there is no need to bat Pagan so low especially vs a RH.
Reyes, Pagan, Wright, Davis, Duda, Thole, Murphy, Harris is how I would have went today vs Marquis.
the line up setting would be much simpler if Bay ever got back, and they settled on regualr players.
I will vote for reyes/pagan/wright/davis/beltran/bay/thole/emaus as the everyday lineup (assuming they continue to use Emaus). Move bay up a spot when Beltran sits.
Thing is Stick that if you do bring in the LOOGY for Davis you can have PH for Duda, Murphy and or Harris. Not like those guys are so good you can’t go to the bench. I would much rather stack the lineup with lefties vs Marquis and make adjustments after we knock him out.

4-8 in that lineup is a LOOGYs dream!
