Enjoy These Pictures From Last Nights Gnats Game

Last night I was able to see some of the rising stars in the Mets system.  Players such as

Cory Vaughn

Aderlin Rodriguez

Blake Forsythe

Darrell Ceciliani

Gregory Peavey (#23)

Yohan Almonte

Javier Rodriguez

(Click on links in the page to see pictures from last night!)

Although the Gnats were pounded due to ineffective pitching from Erik Goeddel and Angel Cuan I saw a lot of promise.  For one thing, Corey Vaughn and Aderlin Rodriguez are huge.  They are so much bigger than the rest of the players for either team.  Rodriquez did struggle a little at the plate last night and Vaughn struggled in RF but you can tell the potential is everywhere for these two.  Darrell Ceciliani was also impressive.  He has a savoy about his game.  He’s kind of short and stocky but seems to have excellent speed and played a good CF.  One prospect that I have not heard much about that impressed me last night was  Javier Rodriguez. You might have read a little about him in our:Ladies and Gentlemen, Your 2011 Savannah Sand Gnats!! preview.  He seemed to have all the physical tools and leads the team with 11 total bases in just 4 games.

I get the opportunity to go back tonight and while I most likely will not take as many pictures I will still share a few tomorrow as well.

For now, if you have facebook access, take a peak at these pictures.  You should be able to see them without an account.  If you can’t, I plan to get these uploaded soon.

    Nice, thanks for sharing.
I’ve been hearing good things about Vaughn and Aderlin.
Just started reading about Peavy this past month.

Cory is the one playing with an insulin pump, right? I can’t imagine….

So you were at the Gnats game last night? Ah….spared the frustration of watching the Mets BP blow yet another game.

Yeah but unfortunately the Gnats got eaten by the Crawdads. I get to go back again tonight. I am just learning how to use my new camera but could not have ask for a better field view. I was sitting beside the Gnats dugout 1st row.

Wow packed house huh? Hopefully the weather was good, looks like a great park.

Also are there crawfish indigenous to that area of NC?

It’s a great park. And yeah there are quite a few crawdads in the area.
There was maybe 300 people there last night. I wanted to go to tomorrows game too but it’s at 11am. Seriously, 11am for a minor league game. Who comes to that?

11 am on a weekday? Must be ‘getaway’ day for them. lol.

Oddly enough… no. They have a night game there on Thursday. Makes no sense at all.
