That’s just brutal. They are averaging an inning more work a game than Phili and giving up twice as many hits and more than three times as many runs.

      And those walks….

    Game called, DH tomorrow.
Wonder what this pitching matchup will be? I’m assuming Carassco will not be one of the starters?

I just saw on Twitter where Carassco will start one of those games, Pelfrey the other.

Since this game was originally scheduled on FOX at 4pm, I’m assuming that stands and the second game is after?

Hmm…..watching the Philly/Marlin game on MLB
They had to take Oswalt out in the bottom of the 7th. He went out to the mound to start but they took him out before he threw a pitch. Looks like he was indicating something with his back.

    Per Rubin:

Chris Young emerges from meeting with trainer, manager and pitching coach.

I’m trying to not read anything into this but I won’t at all be surprised if it’s bad news. Contrary to the Daily News headline of rock bottom, I think it could get worse.

AdamRubinESPN Chris Young says start on Sunday in limbo. Concern is strain on pen if he has to come out Sunday. Still some biceps tendinitis soreness.

Kinda of putting the cart before the horse…although with a DH tomorrow, the BP is probably a valid point.
I understand the Mets called MLB to complain about the DH tomorrow after just playing on yesterday – especially since they”ll be back there a couple of more times – but apparently MLB was not sympathetic.
    Braves taking every advantage here.

Guess the Mets never heard there’s no crying in baseball. While I understand their point, you can hardly say what they have been doing is playing baseball so maybe the practice will do them good :p

Oh those Bases on Balls. Out of morbid, and I do mean morbid in every sense of the word given our start, I checked the number of walks by Starting Rotations in MLB. There are presently 10 starting rotations who have tallied as few walks walks as the Mets bullpen. Led by the Phillies starting rotation who have only issued 14 walks on the season.

    1. hazmet

Oh – those 14 walks in 73 innings vs. 22 in 47. Finding new ways to suck.

Seriously.. we need like a voodoo master or feng shui master…

There is just so much you can switch around before you’ll see Warthen get the hammer. Still thought he needed to go when Jerry did. And I’m not saying that this putridity is directly his fault, as it’s probably a reflection on the talent level of the pitchers as well, but someone’s got to start taking blame… He’s next in line.

I have 2 fantasy baseball teams and both of them are going against a team that has Tulo as their SS. Obviously I’m getting killed this week in both leagues.
