Skimming the fat off the top and having to pitch them less innings has really worked wonders for the bullpen. Beato has been a pleasant surprise (although limited, plenty of sucky relievers like Joba and Joe Smith have had amazing Aprils) and Buchholz and Izzy both look good. Plus obviously Frankie is one of the best.
in other news, Oswalt apparently has ‘left the building’. for personal reasons. no known return date. Shouldn’t affect the Mets, although it guarentees they won’t skip Blanton and he’ll face the Mets Friday as well as Halladay and Lee,.

I think I’d prefer to see Cap out of the bull pen and Gee in the rotation.
