too bad no data on the kid pitching tonight. Guess the Mets did not face him last year (he pitched a few games).

saw that afterwards. The other 2 guys he faced are not on the team (Evans, and Knogs BFF Carter)

    Go Big Pelf!

      Go what, away?

glad I was moving furniture instead of watching, but I did have the misfortune to see the grand slam get launched.

there is at least a 99 44/100% chance of a weekend sweep here now.

that 6 game win streak seemed like a long time ago, especially offset by a 4 game losing one.

Can’t blame anyone for not writing this post game wrap up.

That was ugly. TC took responsibility for allowing Pelf to talk his way into that start. That maybe but once he took the mound, it was all on him. Enough already.

Bobby O had some pretty blunt analysis on the post game. And aside from that, where in holy hell was the offense? Why is it this lineup cannot get it done against rookie pitchers? The only reason we even got those 3 runs in the 9th was b/c Ike and Pridie were able to put a couple of good swings on one of their crappy BP arms.

I really thought when they cut Ollie that would be the end of the head cases on this pitching staff. Apparently, I was wrong about that. Looks like Ollie was allowing Pelf to fly under the radar.

We all were excited by the six game winning streak forgetting that during a season good teams have losing streaks while bad teams have winning streaks. If you’re a mediocre team then the positive and negative streaks will probably cancel out. After the six game winning streak a dose of reality can be a slap in the face.

    That, and one other observation….
I’m getting a tad confused concerning TCs game strategy lately.

-Starting Pelfrey to begin with considering how sick he apparently was.

-Walking Schneider, who is hitting about .87, with 2 out, to get to the pitcher. Really? Nothing like clearing the pitcher’s spot there. I guess he had absolutely no faith Pelf could get a batter out that is hitting below .100? If that’s the case, he should have pulled him right there and then.

    - Bringing Gee in when he finally did pull Pelfrey in the 5th. Why not Brydak there? Have Gee come in to start the next inning, not with men on base to face Howard.

It’s possible that TC was brought in not only for his personality that is significantly different from his predecessor but also to be a caretaker manager. When Sandy believes the club is ready to contend you may very well see someone else at the helm.

I think you are wise. TC’s in game managing is a major disappointment, but he was certainly an about face this spring compared to the previous 2 managers.

Hopefully we see a major transition 2012 (ideally with Reyes), TC’s contract up and then your 2013 manager is… insert names of Tuefel, Backman, Oberkfell, etc. etc.

And if all hell breaks loose, the team is sold completely to new investors, you think they could bring back Bobby V?
