The usual suspects.
It’s all going to come down to pitching today.

As usual you were correct. And as usual the superior team found a way to win. Presently the Mets are the worst team in the NL East and it will continue to translate into poor home attendance but the Wilpon’s are lucky that Selig is a bosom buddy.

Hard to argue with your points there.
As long as the Phillies keep selling out there games, they’ll have plenty of money to do what they need to do.
Turning point of the game was that shot up the middle Niese couldn’t field. If he didn’t touch it, Reyes very likely gets a dp and it’s a 1-1 tie possibly going into the 9th. We sure as heck weren’t hitting Halladay but I’ll bet we could have got something going against that BP of theirs.
We all knew this was a long shot today. Too bad it was a wasted good effort by Niese there. Would have just as well seen Pelf start this game and had Niese against either of the other 2.

My only question after today’s game is do Reyes and Beltran have drills where they practice how to avoid all contact when they are in the process of going in to 2nd on the double play?
Used Kleenex is MUCH tougher than those guys.

Being in NH it was too nice of a day to spend it on a mediocre team. Looks like a real nice effort by Niece was wasted. Too bad but hopefully starts like that are more of the norm.
