FLUSHING, N.Y., May 4, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced the team has placed righthanded pitcher Pedro Beato on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to May 2, with tendinitis in his right elbow, and has selected the contract of lefthanded pitcher Mike O’Connor from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League. O’Connor will wear #50 and will be available for tonight’s game.
