          Better act now than later…

Old regime would have waited couple days and then pitch him couple more times and he’s done for the season…

maybe they can get a 2-fer discount from Altchek, if they have him done at the same time as Mejia?

gotta save money when you can!

I think I’m worn out from all this…This isn’t enjoyable at all.

If you view it just right, it actually is becoming funny.

I mean, I TOTALLY support maternity leaves—but Jason Bay? After he missed what he did last year? After he missed the first few weeks of 2011 after refusing to come to camp early and hurting himself swinging a frigin bat? He is back for 10 (VERY unproductive) games and now he’s gone again? it’s a fu**** joke.

Injured Mets are never something to laugh about, but FMart at this point? Mejia finally putting some innings and some numbers up and then having this happen?

      Now Beato?

You can’t get mad, you have to shrug and chuckle.

It’s almost as if the Mets are seriously paying for the deal they made with the devil to win the World Series in 2006, except Omar couldn’t even get THAT right, and we lost in game 7 of the NLCS but are STILL paying off our side of it!

Is this going to be 2009 all over again?

        AHHHHHH…….

        1. kingman 26

No, far worse, as I think many of us had hope in 2009 and still believed we were “a player or two away.”

Now we are 2-3 years away. Hopefully.

Yea 2009 will be worse emotionally but as you can probably assume I wasn’t too positive that they were going to be good that year as well.

I was already invested in the team being bad I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

I’ll tell ya my wife is enjoying this because I haven’t talked baseball at all with her. She even tried to bring up their Sunday win to me just to get a conversation going. For the 12 years that I’ve been with he this is the first time where I am not angry or super excited about the team. I am so indifferent about the team it’s almost like I don’t follow them. So she got to watch “The Voice” instead of me shutting that down to watch the game. “Parenthood” is where I draw the line though, I don’t care how bad they suck.

Is that legitimate anger for taking maternity leave?

The guy is damaged goods, but cmon.

        1. kingman 26

          Uh no, note this sentence:

          “I TOTALLY support maternity leaves.”

What I am trying to express is the feeling that, of ALL Mets, JASON BAY is the one who takes maternity leave?

After missing 67 games last year for all that money, after getting hurt in the batting cage this spring, after playing 10 total games since last July, I think it is just funny that the first Met we hear of taking maternity leave is Jason Bay.

          1. tkfj2

Well, yeah that is pretty ironically hilarious.

More disconcerting is the fact that the guy has no power. He looks like a punch and judy hitter up there.

            Awful contract.

          2. kingman 26

Yeah, the irony and the humor are all I was meaning to stress.

I mean, if it was Dickey or Wright or even Beltran or SO many others, who’d even think about it? But Bay?

            It really just an LOL.
