I would like to see Bay hit 8th, but other than that, this is good in that we continue to give Thole and Murph chances, we get to see if Turner and Pridie really can be parts of this team in the future as great bench strength, and I am very ready to see if Tejada can hit.

Bay needs to bat cleanup so he can put down a good sac bunt.

LOL.
If Terry (and I almost typed Jerry) has no faith his cleanup hitter can get a needed hit and is asking him to bunt, it’s a good indication said batter should not be batting cleanup to begin with.

I think the bunt was more of “let’s do anything to get a win” move rather than lack of confidence in Bay (though I’m sure it had some weight to the decision).

I am surprised though that Tejada is not hitting in the 2 hole. Addle brained JC seems to have forgotten that is one of his rules.

Very interesting podcast on 1050 ESPN with Wright talking about his injury.
http://espn.go.com/espnradio/player?rd=1#/podcenter/?id=6559656&autoplay=1&callsign=WEPNAM
The Mets made him go for the CT scan and second opinion.
HIS second opinion includes sending all results to some back and spine specialist in CA.
He said there’s a glimmer of hope he won’t go on the DL but it’s not looking good. Chuckling, he admits it’s really only his glimmer of hope.
Said he thought at first it was a muscle problem at first b/c it was very, very stiff and sore the next day. Told the trainers, took the anti inflammatories and such. Said the Mets wanted him to get an MRI but he said ‘nay..I told them it was getting better’. After awhile though, he knew it wasn’t getting any better.
Said it’s almost the mindset of if he had that MRI he knew they would find something wrong and in his mind, with so many on the DL, ‘enough is enough’.
I guess it’s that mindset of ‘what I don’t know won’t hurt me’.
Only in this case, all he really did was prolong the inevitable.

no, he did worse than that.
If he had been prudent and gotten evaluated earlier, he would have been on the DL instead of plowing into Ike!

LOL. I wouldn’t exactly say Wright plowed into Ike but good point.
I’m surprised no one else anywhere has brought this up.
Either Ike would have caught the ball or it would have dropped between Ike and whoever would have been playing 3rd that day.

I missed this yesterday, but Bucholz sidelined couple days for tendinitis in his shoulder….
Hope it’s not anything serious…

shoulder? Thought I heard elbow the other day. Not sure which is worse, since he had TJ a couple years back, but we know shoulder issues are nasty!

Game rained out tonight. Kind of figured.
And Wright to the 15 day DL. Hurry back, David.

TRS on Moronblog:
“Wow, this place is really going down hill. Not sure why I even bother here anymore. It’s like bad pro-wrestling. Just a bunch of ignorant shock comments to get a reaction. Imagine a real world where in a rational debate the response was “you ignorant puss”. Maybe you guys should meet on the school playground and fight it out while the rest of us laugh and say ooooh. Seriously who responds like that?”
TRS, despite our sometime differences, I hope you know how much I really do like you.
Comments like this make you really shine as a person.

I was born and raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn and some of the comments I’ve seen and have had directed to me on the internet would have resulted in serious street fights. Even though I’ve had knowledge of computers and the internet since their inception I didn’t start using the internet for recreational purposes until a few years ago. Imagine my shock when after mildly criticizing a Met’s player I was met with personal insults concerning not only me but my heritage. If these comments were made face to face there would have been one heck of a fight. But on the internet its done anonymously (or so people think).

Thank you for asking.
Incredibly slow. But I have to expect that at my age.

Thanks Kingman. As I said yesterday, as an educator I feel it my duty to at least try to stomp out ignorance. It just happens to be that my greatest tool is embarrassment through sarcasm.

And what a wonderful tool embarrassment through sarcasm can be!
I think my favorite line ever of your remains the one where someone asked why you bother over there and you said “because sometimes it’s fun to toy with idiots.”
That’s HOF humor.
