Martinez in the 5 spot… interesting. Jerry, err, Terry loves his L/R split.

True but it also adds protection for Fmart, depth to the lineup and breaks up that string of lefties.

Hard for me to imagine how we are going to keep winning series with this lineup. I hope I’m wrong.
Maybe Bay will finally turn it around.
Maybe Pagan will be back in a few days and look like the Pagan of last year.
Maybe Beltran will continue to hit even though there’s no protection in this lineup for him.
Maybe Reyes will continue to get on base.
Maybe others among Murphy/Thole/Pridie/Tejada type players will step up and get some key hits with runners on base as Turner has been doing the past few series.
Maybe Ike and Wright will be back sooner rather than later.
That’s a lot of maybes.
Goes without saying that hopefully our starters and BP will continue the good pitching of late while we cross our fingers on the offense.

pitching. Right now, that lineup is as as good (and likely better) than what the Phils are rolling out.
Ross gload 5th. A couple of random guys named Martinez. Mayberry (or francisco, I forget which) in a horrible slump, Ibanez a stiff.
Pretty much howard, palanco, and a little bit Ruiz now.

I followed the Phils game on Gameday yesterday. You’re right – that lineup is circa Mets ’09.
It’s no wonder they’re not scoring any runs.
Last I heard Blanton and Victorino were going on the DL today.
Ben Fran is barely a replacement player and ‘Mini Mart’ Martinez is barely a AAA player.

Really? Ben Fran has played well against the Mets.
Plus Utley should be coming back soon. Hopefully he won’t be ready for next weekend.

From what I’m reading, he had a good start to his season for like 3 weeks and that was it. Plus apparently his defense is not all that great.
Mayberry has been getting some timely hits though.
I did read where Utley’s rehab should be up end of this month.

I’m glad Martinez is getting in the lineup this weekend because it makes no sense to have had him sitting around on the bench the last couple of weeks. When Davis was initially hurt they should have called up Nick Evans, Lucas Duda or someone who could play CF.

Duda was injured and I guess they would have had to make a 40 man move for Evans. They could have moved Young I guess. With the removal of Hu it was natural anyway.

On a sad side note, Macho Man Randy Savage died today.

We should all snap into an honorary slim jim.
This is the rare death of a wrestler apparently unrelated to drug overdose or murder-suicide.

Couple others that come to mind (I don’t know much about wrestling, but I follow the news somewhat);
Andre the Giant – heart failure, which I believe was related to his gigantism
Owen Hart – equipment malfunction in the ring
Macho Man is an awesome nickname though, definitely one of the biggest wrestling icons of all time.

Heart attack could well be Roid related. But I’m going to go with the theory that one too many slim jims clogged his Aorta.
RIP Ohh Yeaaaaaahhh.

Right now it’s car accident that could have been caused by medical right?

Interesting that Hogan said they had not spoken in 10 years until recently.

But the juicy stuff is that Vince McMahon hasn’t spoken to him even longer since Randy supposedly had an affair with his daughter Stephanie. Thereby, he was never welcomed back into the WWE in a similar role as Hogan. Could also be why Hogan hadn’t spoken with him either. Wouldn’t want to tick off Vince knowing how he felt about the Macho Man.
Also, his brother was Leaping Lanny Popov and their family goes back in wrestling circles just as far back as the Hart family. Doubt past steroid use had anything to do with it as he never reached the freakishly large size like guys in the later 90′s till today.
I used to follow this stuff long ago, just from a business perspective the way the WWE and McMahon expanded his entertainment business is a great study alone.
RIP Macho Man. But will he be looking for Elizabeth on the other side?
