A commenter from Amazin’Avenue described this Mets team perfectly when summarizing tonight’s game:
“I’ve seen this script before.
Mets play even with the Phillies most of the game, then the LOLpen and LOLfense come out and give it away. Then they manage to get the tying runs on and end it in painful fashion.
It’s f**king logic.”
i’m not a prayer guy but i’m pulling for The Kid. Today’s players could learn a lot watching the way he carried himself on the baseball field and how he gave a damn about the game and his teammates.
I am sure they already are actively pursuing those trades. Just saying that at this point there is not much out there to be blown up. Offensively you got Beltran that will be gone either way, a tough decision on Reyes and the rest of the guys are young players to marginal prospects. Of course that is leaving out Bay but we are stuck with him regardless.

I really do third that.
I just wish we were more like them since 2007.

Knew KRod wasn’t going to be perfect the rest of the way but damn, he could have picked any other series for that meltdown, thanks.
And Murph….kid tries hard but he’s just not a natural anything in the field.
Sigh.

Heard the news from Gary during the game. Very sad.
Here’s hoping that 10% chance they gave him for benign works out to be the case.

I am a prayer man, and I echo your sentiments exactly.
The wheels cannot be coming off the Mets bus as much as it seems, can it?

As much as I would like to agree, what are you blowing up? Murphy at 1B, Tejada, 2B, Turner 3B,? Who is here to blow up?

Actively pursue trade Reyes, Beltran, K-rod. Tear it down, get talent to rebuild the minors and eventually the big club.
