Here is a thought as the Mets embark to finish the final 2/3 of the season.
The NY Mets have to go 54-54 the rest of the way just to match their 2010 79-83 record.

not a problem. I expect them to be better in the 2nd half.
This year, the crushing injuries to key guys happened early. Hopefully be mid-season, they will be back (ike and DW at least), and maybe an appearance by johan at some point.

Another fun/not fun stat is that through 1/3 of the season they are precisely on path to meet my projection of 75–87.
Oh well, it can only get better I suppose.

Well, they started the season on a really awful streak, followed that by a really hot streak, and have been mediocre since. I’d say this current pace is pretty much what they are. I still hold onto the low end of my 78-82 win prediction, probably 78. Ugh.

Those wins against the Astros and Nats were illusions of decency.
We just suck, and with no terrible teams on the schedule for quite a while, fasten yourself in for some seriously disappointing baseball.

I’m guessing no one has the stomach for a wrap up post – and I can’t blame them. LOL.
So to continue:
Injuries, anemic offense with replacement players, guys playing out of position or different positions on nightly basis aside…….that 7th inning with 4 straight IF hits is something I don’t think I’ve ever seen. Luck? I mean, you just can’t make this stuff up.
And this BP…can someone try to enlighten me on what could possibly be wrong. Is everyone not named Izzy and KRod really this awful – all regressing to the mean? I mean, I have a hard time swallowing that one.

There is nothing he’s saying here that is not fact.
He came right out and said he’ll take all the blame but these are big league players and they’re gonna start playing like it.
