Can’t wait until today’s minor league wrapup so I am stealing their thunder.

Harvey: Matt Harvey limited Clearwater to one run on six hits while striking out nine and walking two in five innings.

      Go Harvey!

Bingo is going to get a nice little talent boost in another month or so (after the 1st half wraps up for St Lucie).

though they could use more hitting too.

have to figure after the 1st half of the split seasons ends Vaughn will go to PSL. Hell, at his age and background, and the way he is hitting, could probably jump right to Bingo too!

Yeah, it’s completely void of hitting. Other than Satin.

and he should either be in Bingo, or on the Mets bench.

    Who is Jeff Kaplan?

I really should pay to the minors. Given the fact that we’ve got one going that I’ve never heard of means I’m not paying as much attention as I thought I was. LOL.

Jeffrey Kaplan has been closing in PSL this year. He missed almost all of last year with an injury. Before that he worked as a starter, but is now in the bullpen. He’s rule 5 eligible after this year b/c he was drafted in 08 in the 11th round out of CS-Fullerton, which is a real good college program. I can’t see them protecting him, but I doubt he’ll get picked, but he’s putting together a nice year, and is certainly a candidate to move to Binghamton later this month.

        Thanks, Bryan.
Tells you how much I knew about him. I thought he might have been an OF. LOL.

Just about all those guys are no-brainers selections, except Moviel is a surprise, I have no idea how he made it. Nick Carr would have been a good pick, but spent a lot of time on the DL. Also, you could make a case for Jefry Marte or Juan Lagares.

Hey, not to reveal the secret but according to Cerrone the Mets actually play over 300 games this year!!! (Side note, Keith also changed his middle name).

Keith Q&A: Hernandez on state of Mets after 106 games
Matthew Cerrone: The season is just over a third complete.

Moviel really? he’s having a pretty bad year but the others have been real good.

Harvey should be moving to AA very soon…

On another note, that controversy between Posey, Cousins, Sabean and the Giants is getting nasty.

I think the NY media would have had a field day with Sandy if he made some of the comments Sabean has.

And Cousins is getting death threats? Really? That’s a bit over the top.

what happened? Is this related to the GM (sabean?) saying catchers should avoid contact? Or was that Beane?

I am way out of touch these days!

      1. metsfan4decades

Yes, this is related to that Cousins take out of Posey at the plate in that Marlin/Giants game.

Here’s a snippit of what I’ve been reading:

On Thursday, San Francisco Giants’ general manager Brian Sabean took to the airwaves in the Bay Area to tell how he really feels about Scott Cousins, the Florida Marlins player who injured Buster Posey in a home plate collision last week. This is what Sabean had to say:

“If I never hear from Cousins again or he never plays another game in the big leagues, I think we’ll all be happy. … He chose to be a hero in my mind, and if that’s his flash of fame, that’s as good as it’s going to get, pal. We’ll have a long memory. Believe me, we’ve talked to (former catcher Mike) Matheny about how this game works. You can’t be that out-and-out overly aggressive. I’ll put it as politically as I can state it: There’s no love lost and there shouldn’t be.”
        **************************************

I know they lost Posey for the year but come on. And apparently Posey won’t take Cousins call to apologize. Didn’t they just go through the aftermath of that poor Giants fan getting beat almost to death at Dodger stadium? This is just going to incite some fans to over the line.

I guess we don’t have to worry about being any kind of rival with the Marlins anymore. They’ll be beating the drums with the Giants for years to come on this.

        1. stickguy

when you mentioned death threats, the issue with the dodger’s fans is what came to minds.

pretty hypocritical really. And silly. it was a legal play, if a bit exhuberant
