Jason Bay batting 5th. In his last 10 games, his OPS is .441. Just throwing that out there…

Lefty on the mound, and he umm..hits the ball hard sometimes?

Tejada has been hitting much better than Bay for a while now. Even if he’s only hitting singles, I’d rather have him 5th at this point than Bay.

Yup, Bay stinks, he is a big problem. However, he is the Mets problem that they will have to deal with long-term. Just benching him solves nothing long-term. Short-term we don’t have to watch him, great. It’s not like his replacements are even MLB level at this point. Only thing that we can all hope for is that he magically starts hitting again the same way he magically lost it.

hell, evans doesn’t even play, and he is probably more productive lately too.
I think there are 2.5 years and 16mill reasons why.
Paulino is certainly been hitting more overall, and is a veteran too. so Bay 6th, to not hurt his feelings even more?
man, this guy is a mess. Hard to see him snapping out of it this season. maybe over the winter?

Bay has zero extra base hits in his last 62 plate appearances. This is INCREDIBLE!
His OPS is .593.
I keep citing this because it is like Halley’s Comet. Just extremely rare.

Like I said it’s terrible but at least he’s not Uggla. Uggla has hit worse than that AND can’t play defense.

Fielder gets more/the same/less than Reyes in the offseason? Discuss.

interesting question at this point.
I guess a little more, cause chicks dig the long ball (or is that knuckle balls? Wait, that’s dickey. never mind)

Sorry, but this BP just royally sux right now.
To a man, you can’t trust a one of them.
Don’t know what the solution is.

only thing they can do besides crossing fingers and hoping (rolling out the same guys) is to call up some new ones. maybe some live power arms from AA or AAA pen? try something new.
this game hurt.
and exactly why I said it was a bad idea to pull pelf after 6 for a hail mary attempt at scoring a run. If nothing else, this proved that 1 run wasn’t gonna cut it!
