We all get jaded sometimes, and we all also sometimes forget the difference between sports and real life. Some of us–this author especially–sometimes forgot how great Jose Reyes is.
All I can say is that Ted Berg has a piece that is so beautiful and moving it speaks for itself.
I hope he does not mind me giving our readers a chance to read it.
Ted, thank you for this one, and thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

I’m glad you posted this Kingman. I just came back here to link to this story for all who might not have read it yet.
If this doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, I don’t know what would.
One of the best pieces I’ve ever read anywhere.

Yeah, MF4D.
I am the oldest, but my little bro and I co-own a biz together, are extremely close, and have worshiped the Mets since childhood together.
So this story really moved me.
I cannot even imagine.

I have no brothers (just sisters) so I couldn’t exactly relate but I found myself smiling through the tears. He has an incredible way of putting things into perspective while telling a story.
Oh, and long live Jose Reyes in a Met uniform.

Thanks for posting ill che k it out later. So far at the game Reyes continues to be a beast and Bay had a decent swing on that hit. Also so far Gee is hitting the spot.

Good piece. Sometimes a step back is needed to see the big picture.

My older brother passed away from stomach cancer in 2004. He introduced me to what was to become three of the four passions in my life, baseball, music and audio equipment. The other passion was women but that came naturally. My interest in audio eventually started me down a path that became a career in Research in Electronic Engineering so I can thank him for that. He also encouraged me to purchase my Corvette back in 1987. So he had a major impact on my life and I can relate to that article. Kong thank you for the link.
