Last Night on the Farm – 7/8/11

Apparently in rained last night all along the eastern seaboard, who knew?

Buffalo at Scranton Wilkes Barre PPD

Binghamton at New Britain PPD

Tampa at St. Lucie PPD

Savannah 11, Greensboro 4

Angel Cuan very quietly has a 7-1 record after getting the win in this one.  He gave up 4 runs across 6 innings, striking out 6.  Adam Kolarek continues to impress, striking out 5 in 3 shutout innings.  There was plenty of offense from the Gnats too, especially for a lineup that is not nearly as imposing as it was a few weeks ago.  Albert Cordero was 5-5, with 2 doubles, a triple, and 2 RBI’s.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 3-4 with 4 RBI’s.  Joe Bonfe was 4-5 with 4 RBI’s.  Alonzo Harris also had a multi-hit game, including a double.

Vermont at Brooklyn PPD

Kingsport 7, Princeton 2

Jacob Lugo, this year’s 34th round pick, pitched 5 no hit innings and got the win.  Despite allowing no hits, he walked 5 and struck out just 3.  Miller Diaz finished the game with 4 strong innings.  Yucarybert De La Cruz, Tillman Pugh, and Greg Pron all had 2 hits.  Pugh homered, as did Dustin Lawley, and Tyler Carpenter.

GCL Marlins 6, GCL Mets 5

Jose De La Torre struck out the side in the 1st in another rehab outing.  The rest of the Mets pitchers didn’t have as much success, although Rafael Montero struck out 6 in 5 innings of work.  Gilbert Gomez and Breiner Soto each had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.
