Post Game: Mets get Cain’ed

Man was Matt Cain frustrating tonight. He went 6 innings, threw 118 pitches(a new season high) and surrendered no runs even though the Mets had a runner in scoring position from innings 2-6. Pelf was better, relatively speaking considering he is pretty bad on the road. Mike went 6 innings giving up 2 runs, he did have 3 consecutive strike outs to end the 6th(it was pretty dominant). Mets were very sloppy on the field tonight, 3 errors from Duda, Pagan and Murphy. Mets lose this one 4-2. Full wrap here.

The Mets finished the first half 46-45. This is the same club who started the season 5-13. This is the same ball club that lost Wright, Ike, Santana, Paulino and Reyes for some part of the year, most for the majority of the year. I cannot say how proud I am of this team and even though they may not contend this year, there is no doubt that they are heading in the right direction. What Terry Collins has done in such a short amount of time has really washed away alot of the toxicity of the last few years. While the Mets may have some faces leaving at the trade deadline, I still feel the guys who do stay will always stay in any fight. This is starting to feel like 2005 all over again except in 2005 we were only at .500. Here’s to a very exciting 2nd half with a team that doesnt give up. LGM!

Dang.  Would have liked to end the first half on a win and a series win.

Saw a graphic on the post game show where the Mets record on getaway day is not very good.

They put up another graphic that Pelf gets the least run support than the other starters but more than a run:  2.05.

The offense is really missing Reyes/Wright/Ike and so is the defense.
I think the broken straw was Reyes.

    Hurry back, guys.

LOL Loving the female freaking out pulling her hair pic Dirty. :-)

So how much would it cost to get the Mets to advertise something like this?

      Very nice.
I’m thinking since they threw that guy from 7Line out of Citi for holding up a Reyes sign that said resign him – and metsblog is their ‘official’ blog, they probably would not do it.

You hear that? 4D just burst my bubble. ;-)

          LOL – sorry,

But I did give you a ‘like’ on that!

Thanks, it’s only on the post page for now but working on it.
      Does that help?

Looks good to me.  I like it.
Font could be a bit smaller (like it used to be) but for me, better big than too small  :)

The Mets enter the ASB performing better than I originally
thought they would. But I compare it to a student that was expected to fail and
somehow raised his level of work to a “D.” Is this a cause for dancing in the aisles?
Is it time to celebrate? Perhaps not but it is a damn site better than an “F.”

The one thing I would like to see cease and desist is the whining, weeping and
wailing over injuries. Other teams have injuries too but their fans don’t cry
like a bathtub overflowing. There are other teams out there that have suffered
injuries similar to the Mets but they persevere and some are actually contending.
Just remember you could be an Astro’s fan. So lighten up. It’s only baseball.

OT, but just saw the clip of Matt Harvey in the Futures game.
Heard is brief interview there too.
I predict if/when he makes his way up here he’s going to be a fan favorite.

Dirty, it’s a shame the Mets don’t have someone by the name
of Abel. But I like your title to the thread. The women reminds me of one of my
    ex-wives.

I particularly enjoy parties when they all assemble and dispense
advice to my present gf and perhaps future wife.
