even the HR last night can’t get my boy Duda a start over Bay the stiff?
Bay needs to get sent to the end of the bench for a while, though I guess we are stuck with him starting when Beltran gets moved.

If you notice, Terry never seems to reward a hot night at the plate. Hairston kills it one day, on the bench the next. I don’t know what the mindset is on that.

it’s a long season, and guys have their roles?
Or maybe the old guy can’t remember that far back!

With the trade deadline looming this series was huge and whether it is warranted or not my feeling is that Bobby Parnell just ended the season today. We get Wright back he drives in a bunch of runs over the past 3 days to supplement Tron and we still lose 2 of 3. I’m also tired of hearing Ojeda refer to Parnell as a kid. He debuted in 2008, will be 27 in Sept, he is not a kid anymore in the bigs. It was years ago that the Sox were gushing “who is this guy?” after he mowed them down in interleague in 2009. Only the Mets could have the most hittable triple digit fastball hurler. So disgusted.

Parnell is, well, super talented and super sucky, all at the same time.

I turned the game off after Murphy’s bunt with no outs, Wright on second and Pagan (semi useless) and Bay (completely useless) behind him.
Actually you’re better off with less velocity and more movement and better location on the fastball. From reading some of the blogs apparently Parnell’s slider was flat today and there was some criticism of Tholes pitch selection.

I thought in the offseason that Thole was going to be the long term answer behind the plate. This season has consistently shown me that Thole is not seasoned, nor anything greater than a platoon catcher.
As for Parnell, I always knew he wasn’t a closer, but seriously, he’s about as dependable as (insert something completely not dependable here).

now what the heck does duda have to do with a completely not dependable set up man?
Lucas Duda in July:
353
.441
.588
1.029
Yes, that is an OPS of 1.029.
Just for laughs, Jason Bay in July:
.183
.275
.283
.559
I know, short sample, and does not take into account defense, but since July 1, Duda’s OPS is MORE THAN DOUBLE bay’s!

In reply to stickyone:
Didn’t you see the smiley?
Would Duda be an undependable setup man? Is Duda an undependable defensive player? Is Duda a benchwarmer? The answer to all three is yes!!!
I read that Duda struck out on a pitch in the dirt at a key spot in the game. I can’t believe that’s possible.
