It’s Official – Mets sign Fullmer

Mets Supplemental First Round pick Michael Fullmer (RHP, Deer Creek HS, Edmond, OK) tweeted he had signed with the Mets last month, and yesterday Baseball America announced that the deal was finalized for $937,500.  This is more money than any other player has gotten outside of the first round – make of that what you will (Slot recommendation was $776, 500) .  Fullmer had a scholarship to play for the University of Arkansas, along with Mets first round pick Brandon Nimmo, who has yet to sign. Here’s hoping he can persuade Nimmo to forego the Razorbacks.   No word yet as to where Fullmer will report now.  Best of luck Michael!

He’s going to St. Lucie, per his twitter account.

He’s just reporting there because that’s where the organization operates, but assuming they assign him to a team to pitch before the end of the season, it’ll probably be the GCL, which also plays in St. Lucie.

Aside from Nimmo, but 3rd rounder Logan Verrett, 15th rounder Phillip Evans, and 20th rounder Mason Robbins are a few guys I’m hoping they can sign.

Spoke with Jim Callis at BA.  If he plays this season, most likely for the GCL Mets.  Yes, Nimmo is top priority and they have till Aug 15.
