What did miss in the past week?
DId we sign Reyes, trade for that ace pitcher, sweep the Nats?

Just catching up since last Thru.

So, is it just the Marlins mastery of the Mets or the Poof Factor in effect?

In fairness, Pelf getting little help out there with David’s throwing and Pagan’s not throwing, or more accurately not knowing where to throw.

Yeah, I know, I know.  I’m beating on the whipping Pelf.

lol, careful now others might confuse you with me as I’ve been merciless most of the year on him too.  I’m trying to be supportive since his last 2 starts he started getting more grounders again which is key for him.

I am so far over the fence on kicking Pelf to whatever team will take him, it’s not funny, nor rational.

Yeah, me too but he’s here so I’m trying to make the most of it.

3 things currently driving me nuts on this team, in no particular order:

    1. Tapping the glove before throwing to first.
    2. David Wright’s sidearm throws
    3. Poor baserunning, cough cough Murph cough e

No mention of paulino’s beard in that list?

I didn’t know he swang that way, when’s he coming out of the closet?  Oh, you mean that kind of beard. :p

Yeah, somewhere in those !!!!! two of them are dripping with sarcasm. :)

Team’s just been feeling flat to me so I’m trying to generate my own excitement.

    Oh, the roller coaster…

Murphy, man, you are killing me.

Pagan, what in the wide world of sports are you thinking of trying to stretch that single out to a double.

Izzy is hurt.  I’m calling it now.

Pelf gets props.  Good game pitched.  Now, the next outing we’ll see alter-pelfrey…  Big Poof.

    Duda.  Nice bomb.

Your New York Mets…  Sigh.  At least they ain’t the Astros.  At least Tidewater ain’t the Astros, for that matter.

Fortunately I only saw bits and pieces of tonight’s game for which I am eternally grateful. So I missed what Hazmet described as “David’s throwing and Pagan’s not throwing, or more accurately not knowing where to throw.” However, I did catch Reyes being thrown out at the plate by 30 feet with one out on a base hit to right. The Mets illustrious 3rd base coach not taking into account there was only one out, not taking into account that Murphy and Wright were due up, not taking into account the positioning of the right fielder Stanton, not taking into account that the ball was hit extremely hard and got out to the outfield in an instant and not taking into account the strength of Stanton’s throwing arm was just wind-milling Reyes home. Of course I saw the Toy Bambino, Babe Duda, tie the game with a 9th inning 2 run homer but then I was treated to Murphy having no idea what he is doing on the playing field. Murphy can flat out hit but on the basepaths and playing field he is an adventure to put it mildly.

Do we think we’d be more mad if the Mets had signed Lackey over Bay?

    1. SaltyGary

Wow that’s a great question. Basically the same contract, I would say Bay. At least Lackey has had a few decent outings and I feel he can make it through his contract. I just don’t see Bay being able to play any better and feel he will disappear soon enough.

hell, I would still trade them even up.

But, how about that DUDA!  At least the “where are the HR” crowd can back off now.

It was a bomb, for sure.  I’d be one happy man if Duda turns out to be half of what you envision him to be.  :D
