I’m still not feeling the whole Tejada vibe.

That was just poor.  Besides only a handful of hits, Tejada played a really poor defense.  Jose we miss you.

Bobby O’s had an interesting analysis of Tejada during the post game.

He said his defense was probably fine in the minors as the game just isn’t as fast as it is up here.

Said these guys are generally faster, get out of the box faster and he needs to make the adjustment – and make it fast.

I was never overly impressed with Tejada’s defense at SS.  Reyes’ range right now is far better.  Ruben has a nice arm but those lackadaisical throws and tags ain’t gonna get it done, son.

I’ve also been confused by the people that are beating the drum for him to take over at 2B.  Why?  His D ain’t so spectacular to make up for the rest of the package.

Another year in the minors to see if he develops is in order.  or he gets traded.

He may just be a light hitting utility man, more of an Alex Cora without the mind.

The Toy Bambino (Babe Duda) with the big hit driving in two runs but his defense (even though it may not show up as errors in the box score) does hurt. However, he has the potential to be the type of hitter (perhaps even better) for the Mets that Howard is for the Phillies. So the Mets must find a spot for him.

Then it will have to be RF longterm unless they do the smart thing and move Bay.

agreed that he profiles ultimately to LF.  I’m sure Sandy would not hesitate to move Bay if he gets the chance.

I am not so sure but I hope so.  Regardless with Duda and Murphy in the organization Bay needs to be the RF.

If he does move Bay, even at .25 to the dollar, they better re-sign Reyes.  If they don’t, conversations of Freddy Coupons and such will go to critical mass.

LOL, I totally misunderstood Stick’s comment because the chance of moving Bay off the team are so remote they are not really even worth discussing.

If Tejada can’t catch or throw the ball there’s no reason for him to be here.  Combined with some unexplainable lack of knowledge about sliding into home plate???  Sorry kid, you might as well play just about anybody else at short with a stick if your D’s gonna be poor.
