The Sunday Question

Oh Mike Pelfrey!  In the news for all the wrong reasons!

Pelfrey told the New York Post yesterday that it was “unrealistic” to expect the team to compete in 2011.

Today’s question:  Are the Mets and the papers blowing this out of proportion?  Should this statement but the “Ace” in trouble with the front office?

I talked to Puma about it and he claimed it wasn’t – good guy – I think Pelf was just trying to be honest – maybe he was too honest

I heard both TC and Pelf’s comments after the game yesterday on this.  Pelf was surprised it came out the way it did.  He took responsibility for all he said but went on to say those comments printed were taken out of context.

He said here he thought he was being positive and it just didn’t come out that way.  Said he was surprised when he came to the park on Sunday and he explained to TC and his teammates what he also iterated after the game yesterday.

    Much ado about nothing, IMO.

Now, I know Pelf was trying to be honest and I’m sure the wording came out wrong, but seriously Big Pelf, what the hell?  You need to be able to answer questions like these like you’re pilot downed behind enemy lines.  “they are treating me well, they have fed me every day, they aren’t beating me at all…”

Please don’t feed the media.  They’re trouble enough as they are.
