So it is done. The Mets land Nimmo for $2.1MM, and sign 37 of their 51 picks. Look forward to seeing all the new guys in Shea soon. Last night’s action was pretty light, so let’s get into it.
Durham 2, Buffalo 1 (Game 1)
Colin McHugh got outdueled by Andy Sonnastine in this seven inning affair. Zach Lutz went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Josh Satin and Fernando Martinez also had a hit a piece.
Durham 8, Buffalo 3 – 8 innings (Game 2)
Dale Thayer and Mike O’Connor conspired to turn a one run lead in the 7th into a five run deficit come the 8th. Jordanny Valdespin and Zach Lutz each had a hit, and Josh Satin went 2 for 2 with a run scored.
Savannah 3, Asheville 2
Taylor Whittenton threw six scoreless innings, giving up only a pair of walks and a pair of hits while striking out six. Michael Herbert blew the lead for him but the Sand Gnats recovered so he got the win. Oh well, life is not fair. Albert Cordero continues to sting the ball with two hits and an RBI. Every Sand Gnat starter had a hit except for Aderlin Rodriguez.

Last night on the farm, the Mets filled their barns.

Shea was a dump, but it was our dump.

small correction: Mark Cohoon pitched game 1 for Buffalo last night, not Colin McHugh.
