Former Met and original Brooklyn Cyclone Mike Jacobs has tested positive for HGH according to the New York Times. Though his major league days were likely done, this is significant because it signals the first successful test for the previously undetectable human growth hormone. MLB and the Players Association are negotiating further drug testing in their next CBA, but minor leaguers are not protected by the MLBPA or any other union and subject to more rigorous drug testing.

Whoa! I just saw him play in Colorado Springs. He’s putting up huge numbers. Guess we know why.

guess a guy gets desperate when he sees his last chance at a MLB payday slipping away.

I’m sure Jacobs is lamenting his bad luck that he’s become the poster boy this week of the newly enacted minor league HGH testing policy.
Just wonder how much more suspensions we’re going to be hearing about in the days to come.

i see. it’s okay to make baseless and defamatory accusations about a person as long as someone else made them about a different person.
good luck with that defense.
