Well sure it’s gonna rain a lot why not cancel the games but for perspective as of 8pm on LI the current storm tracker has forecast the wind probability at: chance of winds over 58mph 20%, chance of winds over 39mph 50%. And that’s with the eye passing about 5 miles west of where we live. Hardly a hurricane, barely a tropical depression by the time it reaches here. Yawn.
As of 1:16 AM, on Long Island, they are forecasting 80 mph gusts with sustained winds of 60 mph and a strong storm surge. With the ground already saturated from previous rain storms the prospect of trees falling looms over the area. You’re probably on the west side of the storm where the winds are considerably less than on the east side.
