As everyone in the country is doing I have been remembering that day 9/11 and the days after and how they unfolded and how everyone came together on and after that day. In my lifetime I don’t think I ever recall seeing more displays of people’s love for their country everywhere you looked in the form of the American Flag as I did during that time and for a long time after. On homes in cars on bridges on shirts on hats in cubicles everywhere you turned you didn’t have to walk far before you saw the Red, White and Blue being displayed proudly. For me being a photoshop hobbyist one of the ways it took it’s form was as a desktop wallpaper. Below is a graphic I did not long after 9/11 that I called America4Ever.

Very nice graphic.
09/11/01 was for most in this country the first time we experienced a direct attack on our own shores. 1941 was just about 60 years ago on that day. A whole generation that had only read about the Pearl Harbor attacks, how it lead to us getting involved in WWII, how the whole country rallied to do their part.
On 9/11 and the days and weeks after, we all experienced first hand what that terror – and outrage – felt like. And for the most part – Americans being what Americans are – the country pulled together as a nation.
With all the remembrances and such this weekend, it brings all those memories back to the forefront. The victims and the heroes should stay in our minds, for how they died, or what they lived through – as much as to remind us all even though we’re one of the big superpowers of the world, blind arrogance has no place in keeping this great country of ours safe.
USA! USA! USA!

I was discussing 9/11 with my daughter (15) recently. We watched a lot of the retrospective shows, and they have been talking about it in school.
trying to put it in context of how it will be remembered by the generation that did not remember the actual event (as in, he age). Primary comparison of course was Pearl Harbor.
