Wright certainly does make a lot of errors these days, doesn’t he?

Had this discussion with someone else last night.

Prior to last night night’s game this season:
      - Wright has made 16 errors across 86 games and 774.2 innings (2 innings of that was at SS w/ no errors).
      - Reyes has made 18 errors across 112 games and 977.0 innings

I looked this up b/c the Met fan was one of those Wright haters and Reyes lovers and believes Wright should be traded in the off season.

The point I was trying to make to them is that using errors is really not the best way to gauge defensive ability.

Reye’s arm is so much better than Wright’s and his range is as well.  Comparing errors between the two is apples and oranges.

I believe that’s 10 quality starts in a row for Dickey, with just 3 wins.  He certainly pitched well enough to win.

Since mid May I believe, Dickey has had 20 consecutive starts giving up 4 runs or less – and not much to show for it in the W department.

Think I saw Rubin last night reporting that this is the first year since 2005 that we have 2 pitchers in the rotation that have lost 12 games or better.  Not that wins is a very good indicator but we really need some quality SP next year.  I’m glad though that Dickey will be back b/c he’s definitely more than serviceable.
