David Freese had a 2-4 5 RBI game to sink the Mets tonight. His first hit scored 2 with a triple in the first. His second hit was a homer to score three and that just about took the air out of the Mets sails tonight. Chris Schwiden did an OK job, keeping the Mets in the game with a 6 inning 3 run game. The bullpen again looking lost in the 7th, Miguel Batista was able to get the first two outs but Albert Pujols singled to kill off the 1-2-3 inning. Daniel Herrera relieved him and gave up a single to Lance Berkman. Pedro Beato would come in and relieve him and thats when David did his damage. Lucas Duda left with dizziness running down an Albert Pujols double. The dog days of September continue for the Mets…Willie amazingly hit his 2nd home run of the year against the closer Motte but he would close out the game and secure a 1.5 game lead for the Braves.

Dirty!
That was quick.
My take on this LOL game:
- Duda with the injury non catch.
-Paulino standing there doing not much of anything.
- Defense spotty
- BP with it’s normal meltdown.
19 games lost with the lead going into the 7th now.
But hey, how about that Willie Harris?
Looking like a star in the field and at the plate.
I guess we’re really trolling the Braves now.

I understand Duda went into the wall head first. So Duda imitated last years performance by Bay. Considering Duda’s strength I’m surprised he didn’t go through the wall. If they move the fences in will Duda regularly slam into the wall like the Brooklyn Dodgers Pete Reiser. For those of you not familiar with Reiser’s career to give you an idea of his talent he was Mickey Mantle before there was Mickey Mantle. He could hit for average, power, had incredible speed, also possessed a great throwing arm and was a superb outfielder. Unfortunately he kept on running into the outfield wall at Ebbets Field (I heard they installed padding because of him). It totally destroyed what otherwise would have been a HOF career.
