The Sunday Questions

I think last Wednesday might have been one of the most exciting days I’ve seen in baseball in a long, long time.

We’ll start off with an easy question:  Who are you pulling for to win the NL and AL Pennant and who is your World Series winner?  If you want you can state who your heart wants to win and who you really think would win.

I have to ask this next question due to all the negativity that surrounds it.  Do you think Reyes should’ve played the whole game on Wednesday?  Do you agree with what he did?

My prime hope is anyone but the phillies out of the NL.  In the AL, I would rather the yankees don’t get to the WS either, but I don’t really care all that much.

In reality, I think the Rays or Rangers have a shot to upset the Yankers.  Neither would really surprise me.  But sadly, I don’t see any of the other NL teams taking out the Phillies.  I live down in south Jersey, and I am really tired of all the red you see this time of year!  But, still better than a lot of Eagles green…

Reyes?  Much ado about nothing IMO.  I think he should have stayed in, at least to play the field a couple of innings, and at least 1 more AB (which was not likely to make a difference, and he could always have bunted again!).  But, the title was important to him, and if he was willing to take the negative attention now (and no one cold be stupid enough to not realize it was coming), then go for it.

I also don’t see the logic of seeing him one last time (assuming he is leaving).  If that is the case, then screw him, I don’t care about seeing him at all!  Not like he was Cal Ripkin, about to play his last game before retirement.  Just some guy that finally had a chance to jilt his “family” by bolting for a bigger FA offer.

I want to see Milwaukee and Tampa or Detroit in the World Series. I expect Philly versus NY, which is why my enthusiasm for this postseason is lacking.

As for Reyes, I disagree with what he did, but I also don’t really care that much. Batting titles mean nothing to me, and I’m not delusional enough to think all my sports heroes are selfless an always do what I believe to be ‘right’. He did what he did and I hope he enjoys his big payday in his new city.

Once it becomes official that my team is not in the playoffs I don’t care who wins. My preference as such are two teams not named the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies but  I expect those two teams to be in the WS.

The Reyes controversy was silly and not deserving of the attention it received. I congratulate Reyes and wish him luck wherever he signs.

Well, make that unanimous.  Anyone but the Yankees and Phillies.
I really have no idea who will make it to the WS though.  So hard to predict these short series.  Remember 2006?

No, don’t care if Reyes played the whole game or not.  Most regulars don’t play the whole game last day of the season if they’re out of it.
Not thrilled with the way they handled it though.  I would have preferred at least another at bat, if not coming out to take the field one last time.
