That Cards/Phills game certainly made me smile.

And I must have watched that Victorino play in CF a half dozen times already.  Highly entertaining.

I had to go coach a soccer game around 6:30, and had seen that it was 2-0 after 1, and had a bad feeling.

Stopped for dinner after the game, and imagine my surprise to see a Card being interviewed!

Did not see any Vicky play.  Will have to look for that.

Now if their is a benevolent God, by the end of Friday, the Phils and Yanks will both be done for the year!

frankly, outside of their respective obnoxious fan base, that matchup will have Zero ratings, since I bet most of the country has no interest in seeing either team win.

I tried to paste a link in here for that Victorino tripping over himself and throwing the ball towards the CF wall, but I can’t seem to post links in here anymore.

It’s over on thefightins  dot  com then,

that was good.  Only thing better would be if he did it tomorrow in the 9th inning as the go ahead runs scored, and they lost the series!

Man, I want them to lose tonight really bad.  Time for carpenter to have the game of his life.

You live in Phillies territory while I live in Yankees land. If the Yankees win tonight then I want the Phillies to win tomorrow since they are the only team that could beat the Yankees in the WS.

well, now your only reason to root for the phils is gone.  Thank goodness.

You should have seen the ashen faces and heard the somber tones of the Yankees announcers and players on the YES postgame show. It was delightful. Over the years I’ve heard that a five games series represents the riskiest playoff series for a vastly superior team. The longer the series the greater the probability of the better team winning. Of course I’ve never seen statistics to back up the claim but it does seem plausible.

This series reminded me of the 1960 WS when the Yankees beat-up on the Pirates in the three games they won but lost four squeakers.

For most teams and their fans (including us) the Yankees season would be viewed as successful but not for that team.

The 1960′s WS….was barely a toddler so have no memory but my father tells this story to this day:

He’s a life long Yankee hater.  Neighbor two houses down was a big Yankee’s fan.  After that 7th game, when the Yankees fell to the Pirates, he snuck down there at midnight, staked a skull and cross bones symbol with those old time Yankee pennants they used to sell, and lit it on fire.

His neighbor accused him of years of being the culprit and all my Dad kept saying was ‘don’t know what you’re talking about’….

            hahahaha.

That’s the only match-up I won’t be able to watch in the WS. There is just no entertainment value in it for me.

I honestly think it will be a ratings dud too.  You will get yankee fans, and philly fans, and a whole bunch of people that now hate both teams and don’t want to watch.

the Phils have become too over hyped (and if you pay attention, way to full of themselves), so there is really no team in that pairing that a non-fan could adopt.

Usually you vote for the other team against the yankees, but who the hell wants to see the Phils win again?

So, when there are 2 “bad” teams playing, since they both can’t lose, it is an avoidable matchup.

and now, no chance of it happening!

I so hope that by this time tomorrow, philly fans are every bit as unhappy as Yankee fans are now, after watching another team celebrate on their field.

While I don’t love the Cardinals (recall they were a thorn in the Mets side during the 80′s and in 2006 and don’t forget the mockery they made of the Jose, Jose chants) the Phillies are definitely not a likeable team. In fact it’s much easier to like the Yankees players than the Phillies players. Most of the Yankees players at least are classy. Class and Phillies players is definitely an oxymoron.  It’s too bad both teams can’t lose.

I would love ti see a Mil-Phi match-up, it would be a great series.

And so far my Tigers prediction came through, lets go Brewc-crew!
