In my youth my Brooklyn Dodgers knew the feeling of losing series after series very well. But beating the Yankees was always an uphill battle back then while these Rangers have lost to two inferior ball clubs.
Unless Endy Chavez was injured I still don’t know why Washington didn’t insert him in the outfield for defensive purposes with a two run lead. I also can’t understand taking a passive approach in the tenth and playing the outfield extremely deep with the tying run on second. Instead of playing to win he played not to lose so an extra base hit would not allow the winning run to score from first.

Ranger fans were all over Cruz last night after they lost the series. Don’t think his misplaying that ball though can compare to a ‘slow roller up the line’ that got by Buckner. Many more blamed Washington. No matter which team won, I could see the media though pointing out all kinds of flaws with the losing manager’s in game decisions. As it turns out, LaRussa being labeled some kind of genius this morning. Go figure.
Rangers just couldn’t shut the door in Game 6. If you believe in this sort of thing, Cards had the momentum going into that game last night. And they had Carpenter on the mound at home.
Both BPs were less than stellar and only one start could be considered good – which was Holland’s.
To top it all off, the minimum wage earner Freese gets 2 MVP awards, while Pujols, Halladay, Berkman look on.

Well, congrats to the Cardinals.
Can’t imagine what it’s like to be a Ranger and lose 2 years in a row.

at least they have something to do this winter. They can debate how high (and it is high) the Rangers are on the list of all time WS choke jobs.
Wonder how the fans are going to treat Cruz for bowing a win (something that Buckner and bartman were unfairly accused of)
