Jose Reyes walking around with a Marlins construction hat tells me he is all but gone, sorry, I just don’t think the Mets have the coin and the incentive to sign him.
I also think David Wright it going to follow him either via a trade or a free agency next year. So my question today is: If both these players leave within the next year, who will be the next “face” of the New York Mets?

Upon hitting his 30th HR next year, sometime in late August or Early September, Ike Davis will be that face.

I agree with Tex about Ike being the most likely candidate of the guys currently on the team.
Though of course, it could be Duda too! j/k, only because he seems like the kind of guy that prefers not to talk in public. But he will be hitting the crap out of the ball.
So yeah, stick with Ike.

Sigh….
Next face of the franchise? I predict it’s someone not currently on the big club. We have some nice talent but ‘face of the franchise’ usually is equated with a star player. Just don’t see any of those left as real stars.

Whichever guy is willing to provide bland, boring quotes to the media every day.
